Out of Town

I am travelling out of town this week, heading back to Utah.  I am a little bit nervous about leaving the kids behind, but know that they are in good hands -- their dad's.  This will be the longest that I have been away from my children.  Praying that they will be good for Daddy while I am gone.  Back in a week!

Welcome To My Newest Blog!

My idea for this new blog is to help others as I transition from the corporate working world to eventually becoming a stay at home mom.  I will be adding thrift ideas, activities and crafts for children, and whatever else I think would help others who may be considering a transition.

A Whole New World

So I started clipping coupons this past week.  It was a new experience for me since my husband is not a coupon fan and I have never taken the time to really figure the whole process out.  However, I have recently been trying to find a way to cut our budget since our income dropped significantly when my husband's job ended.  Since I am hoping soon to be a stay home mom and leave the corporate rat race (although I do love my job), I am hoping his new business venture will continue to boom well enough that we can live on his income alone. 

Anyway, got a bit sidetracked there for a minute.  Back to my first adventure of couponing.  I have to say that I am sure that there are other individuals out there who save a who have saved a lot more, but my first escapade into the world of coupons saved me $38.77.  This is the highest amount of savings my Kroger receipt has ever said.  So I have to admit.  I think I am hooked.  The only difficult part about it is going to be taking the time to cut and file the coupons (and keep up with expiring ones, etc.).  My next project to tackle:  Weekly Menu Planning. Yes I admit, I am a wait till that evening and stare at the cupboard hoping that something will just jump out at me.  Sometimes I get lucky, other times I have to get creative (these are the times my family cringes).
